4. If your place of employment has a matching gift
program, you can apply and your donation will be processed with your company and they will match your donation according to the percentages they specify. Pfizer is one of the local companies that offers a matching gift program. Charter Oak offers a matching gift campaign annually that you can donate to C.H.A.I.N.

Donate to One of Our Projects

1. The Oliver Project

A fundraising effort by Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. to raise funds for the Ledyard Animal Control to go towards the spay and neuter of feral cats within our community. All monies donated to this project will be used solely to cover the costs to spay/neuter, to buy humane traps, and to get needed materials for build shelters and feeding stations to protect the cats from inclement weather. It won’t happen overnight and It will be expensive. But the positive effect it will have on our community will be priceless.

2. Fixed 4 Life Fund

Contributions to this fund are used spay and neuter

pets at the Ledyard Animal Control to help them be more appealing to prospective adopters so they can find their forever home quickly and to also prevent the chance of unwanted litters. When funds are available, we also help pay towards the cost of companion pets that live in the Ledyard, Gales Ferry, and Preston areas.

3. Emergency Medical Fund

Sometimes pets arrive at the shelter sick or injured. To help these pets get well, so they can find their forever homes faster, we will help with medical costs that might be more than the shelter can bear.

4. Pet Food Assistance Program

Our biggest programs that gives needed pet food and supplies to the Ledyard Animal Control, the Ledyard and Preston Food Pantry, our pet owners within our community. We also assist other rescues, shelters, and food pantries if they have a need.

1. Wooftrax

If you own an Android or iPhone you can download the app that will let you donate to the Ledyard Animal Control every time you take a dog for a walk! Super easy and nothing out of pocket for you. Just click on the picture.

2. Resqwalk
Take a walk and help Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. ResQwalk is a free mobile app that lets you raise money and resources for your favorite animal welfare organization, and all you have to do is walk! Simply click on the photo below that with take to to the webpage with more info. Download it today and start walking for the animals.

3. Join iGive

When you shop from their participating online stores iGive donates a percentage to Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. at no added cost to you! Or sign up for the iGive Search Bar. Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. will get a donation everytime you do

a search using the search bar on the iGive page. You can search for items to shop or click on the Web tab and search just like you would on Google. Click on either logo to sign up.

4. Fresh Step Cat Litter Paw Points

We need your receipts!!! Fresh Step is one avenue we have used to get cat litter for the Ledyard Animal Control. They have changed the way they give us “Paw Points” by asking for an image of your

store receipt showing your purchase(s). And they are accepting more than just receipts of Fresh Step Litter! Now they are accepting receipts with purchases of cat foods, other brands of litter, and cat treats. I did screen shots from the fact page that explains it all in detail.

But summed up, you can go to our page and upload the receipts yourself or you can send me images of your receipts. Please take note of all info from the receipt that has to be in the image.

Lots of cute items that have either the Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. logo or our Lost Pet Squad Logo. There are shirts, totes, bandanas, etc. Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. receives a percentage of the profits for the sale of these items through Cafe Press.

5. Chewy.com

We are now part of the Chewy Donation Program. If you shop for your pet on Chewy…then you can give to Ledyard C.H.A.I.N.!! We even have our own page! Just go there and start shopping!! Remember…you have to click on the photo to get to our page for us to get credit!!

OTHER IDEAS ON HOW TO DONATE

1. Having a birthday, anniversary or shower? Ask for gifts for pets instead of yourself!

2. Are you a business? Offer to hold a pet food collection drive for us! Donate merchandise or a service that we can raffle at our next event! If you have the space, put a permanent collection box in your lobby for others to drop off goods.

3. Are you an animal lover and want to be able to help Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. continue their mission? Consider leaving a legacy gift. A legacy gift means you would be making C.H.A.I.N. one of the beneficiaries of your estate, bank account, life insurance, or properties in your will.

4. Has a loved one passed and you are planning their final arrangements. If they were an animal lover or a supporter of C.H.A.I.N. you can ask for donations be made to us in lieu of flowers.

Donate a Tru-Catch Humane trap! They will be used to trap stray and feral cats so they can be neutered and also can assist us to trap a lost pet so we can help it get back home to its owner.
